Remembering Dr. Gladys Taylor McGarey
November 30, 1920 - September 28, 2024

Dr. Gladys left this earthly plane Saturday, September 28, heading for new horizons we’ve only dreamt of.

Dr. Gladys leaves behind a legacy of love rooted in the most important secret she shared: Love is the most powerful medicine. She often talked about the 5Ls: Love, Life, Labor, Laughter, and Listening, pointing out that love must accompany each of the other Ls for them to lead to health and happiness. “Once you’re able to receive love, health and happiness will follow. Then the only natural response is to start spreading it to everyone you meet.” We are so very grateful for the love, joy, and wisdom she shared and hope these continue to ripple far and wide.

In regard to the first secret to health and happiness shared in her book “You are here for a reason,” Dr. Gladys wrote: “living with purpose can actually help us live longer – and better. And the joy it brings to our lives will ripple out to the world around us.” She truly lived this way, working tirelessly on her most recent 10-year plan to the very end, and her work lives on through The Foundation for Living Medicine which will continue to work to further Dr. Gladys’ legacy, including her vision for a Village for Living Medicine.

If Dr. Gladys touched your heart, please consider contributing to The Foundation for Living Medicine’s efforts to KEEP her legacy alive through educational programming, media projects and her long held vision to create THE VILLAGE FOR LIVING MEDICINE, a state of the art, health services campus embedded in her philosophy of living medicine.  Thank you for helping us keep her legacy alive.

In honor of Dr. Gladys, let us embrace her mantra “Be Glad” and continue spreading the waves of her love, wisdom, and joy across the globe.

Remembering Dr. Gladys

Dadi ( grandma) Gladys is what we called her and I met my wife under while we volunteered to provide the medical care at the children’s home that her parents started in early 1900s She left indelible impression on me to give and love. She will be missed Khuda hafiz Dadi Phir milengay
Dadi ( grandma) Gladys as I called her inspired me and my wife to give and give to the world and share and love. My love for my now (wife ) blossomed under her wings and she watched like a grandmother watching us falling in love and then she was there for our wedding ceremony and blessed us while she recalled the story of meeting my wife under her wings. And then in 2005 I met her in Baltimore, then she welcomed me to the Taylor family with a big hug and awarded me Taylor name with her brother dr. Carl Taylor She left indelible memories for me and sweet memories to cherish forever Much love she will be missed
Thank you for the opportunity to participate in the beautiful celebration of the life of Dr Gladys Taylor McGarey. Dr Gladys gave me the hope and inspiration to realise that growing old is not a limitation but a new beginning of endless opportunities and possibilities. That health and wellbeing is notto be taken for granted. It is not something that just happens but, in fact, the great miracle of the human body – and indeed the miracle of our Earth – will respond with miraculous powers of healing and renewal, when treated with the respect that both deserve. Dr Gladys gave me so much hope and helped me to resolve that I must continue to try and help heal the hurts of humanity and continue with my lifelong commitment to try and make the world a little better because I lived. We never met. Dr Gladys never knew of my existence, but she touched me deeply and helped me to recover my juice as she did for millions across the globe. The statement of intent in my 10,000 Days Hope Initiatives in the link below owes much to her inspiration and universal encouragement: https://donmullan.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Hope-Initiatives-International-Full-Deck.pdf And, like Dr Gladys, I too am dyslexic. Thank you dear family of Dr Gladys Taylor McGarey for sharing this service with all of her friends from across the globe. I send you heartfelt prayers of kindness and healing from Ireland. Let us all commit to making her spirit live in our expressions of Love, Life, Labor, Laughter and Listening. May the Creator of the Universe be praised forever through our gratitude for the privilege of the life of goodness that was Dr Gladys. Thank you, Don Mullan Ireland

A beautiful soul. Thank you, Dr. Gladys for sharing a lifetime of love, joy, and the art of living an inspired life with the world. ♥️
I went to your clinic …A .R.E. in Phoenix early 1980 and remember seeing you there. I went to seek a midwife! Your midwife, Barbara Brown did assist me with the birth of my son at home in April 1980. I wish I could have gone to your book talk in April this year in Arizona. I did buy your book and it has changed my life. Rest well Dr. Gladys. From Patti Brown
