Dr. Gladys’ Celebration of Life Services

Dear Friends,

We are still reeling from Dr. Gladys’ recent passing. It was something we knew would happen someday… we just never expected that someday would be now. We have received your outpouring of love and support. If you’d like to watch one of the recordings of the Foundation or Family’s Celebration of Life Services, you will find them below.

Remembering Dr. Gladys

A beautiful family celebration. I came across an interview just recently and was mesmerized. I was greatly saddened when I learned she had passed. I will be 78 next month and will carry her with me through my remaining time and listen to her interviews and podcasts. Thank you for sharing this tribute.
I will cherish Dr. Gladys for the rest of my life. Amen.
Dr. McGarey delivered me into this world on May 13, 1958, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix. According to my father, Richard Ireland, who was friends with the McGarey family, I was the first baby born in Arizona while the mother (my mom) was put under hypnosis, in lieu of drugs. I had the good fortune of speaking to Dr. McGarey in 2016, as she shared recollections of my father. Gladys McGarey–a bright light, indeed!
Hello from daughter-IL Bobbie. (John’s wife) We are inspired and thankful for all the thoughts and stories you are sharing. Each one is like the square of a beautiful quilt that I think will fill out from all over the world. Thank you for your story/square that shares with everyone more about our dear Mom, Nanni, Friend, … Gladys! BeGlad. I do know in the time I was blessed to spend with her that she was still sending out love and thanksgiving for each of you. She felt your prayers and support and felt confident that the last book she wrote was not the end…rather a solid beginning of her dream of a Village of Living Medicine being created. (add a deep sigh). As family the stories fill our hearts. As the 23rd Psalm of David says. My cup overflows! Again thank you. God’s abundant blessings be upon you. with love, God Abides Bobbie
Gladys was a joyful woman to interview and appreciate. Her words, lessons and anecdotes hold so much resonance for everyone. Her sense of humanity, grace and love simply oozed from her. It’s very sad the world has lost her.
On August 23rd, 2024 I travelled to Arizona from the UK for the first time to interview Dr. Gladys in person. I’ve met one or two exceptional people in my life, but Dr. Gladys McGarey eclipsed them all. Being in her presence was a joy, and I shall forever be grateful to her for granting me that interview and for allowing me to record it. Go well, dear Dr. Gladys. Your light continues to shine but for now, you can rest. A well-lived life complete. My love and blessings to her wonderful family.

Dadi ( grandma) Gladys is what we called her and I met my wife under while we volunteered to provide the medical care at the children’s home that her parents started in early 1900s She left indelible impression on me to give and love. She will be missed Khuda hafiz Dadi Phir milengay
Dadi ( grandma) Gladys as I called her inspired me and my wife to give and give to the world and share and love. My love for my now (wife ) blossomed under her wings and she watched like a grandmother watching us falling in love and then she was there for our wedding ceremony and blessed us while she recalled the story of meeting my wife under her wings. And then in 2005 I met her in Baltimore, then she welcomed me to the Taylor family with a big hug and awarded me Taylor name with her brother dr. Carl Taylor She left indelible memories for me and sweet memories to cherish forever Much love she will be missed
